He's taking a bag out to the future garden and he's being followed. Now he's dumping stuff all over that same future garden. It's scraps and those little composters are all over it! I think they call them chickens and they are really enjoying themselves.......wait just a darned minute! Where's mine?<br />

Mooorning, I'm Cookie Dough, the white longhorn with black spots. The pretty one in the picture. Anyway, I'm going to tell you all what's going on at Welcome Home Retreat. I'm the next door neighbor, so I can tell you everything!<br />

All these lovely ladies keep showing up and bringing loads of bags and boxes full of scrapbook, crafting, and quilting supplies. Sometimes they just bring a book to read. One lady sat in the big comfy chair in the living room and spent the whole day knitting! Quite a few of these ladies come over to the fence to take my picture, I'm very photogenic. There are paintings of me hanging in Welcome Home Retreat. Of course my sisters are always "horning" in on my photos.<br />
<br />
<br />
I suppose that I should tell you a little bit about Welcome Home Retreat. It is a wonderful place for ladies to scrapbook, quilt, craft, or just relax. Sheila Strickland is the owner and visionary for this beautiful place.<br />

Today I'm going to share a couple of recipes. First Cranberry White Chocolate Cookies. Jackie baked these for the Christmas Day Crop and everyone loved them! Easy to make and so YUMMY.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Cranberry White Chocolate Cookies</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Preheat your oven to 350</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>Ingredients</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
3/4 cup unsalted butter softened</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1/2 cup brown sugar</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1/2 cup organic sugar</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1Tbs. Vanilla</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1 egg</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
2 cups organic unbleached flour</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
2 tsp. cornstarch</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1 tsp. baking soda</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1/8 tsp. salt</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1 cup dried cranberries</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1 cup white chocolate chips</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
In a large bowl beat together the butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Add the vanilla and egg and mix until combined. In another bowl whisk together flour, cornstarch, baking soda and salt. Add the flour mixture to the sugar mixture and beat at low to medium speed until dough forms a soft ball. Add dried cranberries and white chocolate chips. Mix them in by hand. Wrap dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least an hour. Line cookie sheet with parchment paper. Roll tablespoon sized balls of dough and place about 2 inches apart. Bake 8-10 minutes. Makes about 2 dozen cookies</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The other recipe I want to share with you is the Ranch and Bacon Cheeseball that Don made for the Ladies to snack on as they worked on their projects.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>Ingredients</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
2 8oz packages cream cheese softened</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1 package dry Ranch Dressing</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1 cup Colby Jack cheese shredded</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
3oz cooked bacon finely chopped</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Use a mixer to slightly whip the cream cheese. Add the Ranch dressing and mix thoroughly. Fold in shredded cheese. Form mixture into a ball and roll in chopped bacon. Wrap cheeseball in plastic wrap and refrigerate until firm. Serve with crackers.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
You may substitute Cheddar or a Cheddar mix for the Colby Jack</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Chopped nuts can be substituted for the bacon </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I hope you try the recipes. Let me know what you think of them. I hope to see you at Welcome Home Retreat, maybe we'll take a selfie. Time to be moooving on, until next time and more Tales from Cookie Dough!</div>
